ORIGINAL 1940S SMOKEY THE BEAR POSTER

A fabulous piece of Americana.
The smokey the bear campaign started in 1944.
This is an earlier poster from 1949.
Unusual beacuse it includes the original catch phrases "Smokey Says- ..." which was changed in 1947 to "Remember... Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires."
Matte not glossy.
Bright, bold colors, killer graphics, displays great.

18 1/4" long | 12 7/8" wide

CONDITION
Very good condition for an old piece of ephemera.
Light "crinkles" and creasing throughout.
Has never been folded.
Normal/light wear along edges and corners.
Small hole near Smokeys mouth. See pic.
Paper on back near the top has worn thin enough to see light through in a few spots, only noticeable on back, no wear like this on front.
Wear does not affect function.
